In 1978, a small group of individuals in Southern California shared with one another their belief that the principles of Christ's ministry should be combined with the skills of marital and family counseling to serve those in need by providing Christian counseling at a low cost. That belief led to creation of the Christian Counseling Center under the nurturing arm of the La Sierra University Seventh-day Adventist Church. Eventually, after more than 20 years of support from the La Sierra church, the Christian Counseling Center began expanding by working with other Southern California churches to provide Christian counseling. By 2005, the Christian Counseling Center had grown to a point that justified creation of a new, independent entity Christian Counseling Centers International, a California corporation, that has its own board of directors, and has applied for Internal Revenue Service approval as a tax-exempt charitable organization.

Presently, Christian Counseling Centers International provides Christian counseling services in cooperation with many churches in Southern California. And the number keeps growing! In addition to expanding Christian counseling services in Southern California, we are actively seeking partners elsewhere in the United States, and in other countries, to reproduce our model for providing Christian counseling services at low cost through cooperation with local churches. We are also cultivating opportunities to build relationships among other community service organizations that will produce mutual benefits to the organizations and more effective service to the community.

Now that you know a bit about our past, we invite you to become part of our future. If you would like to know more about Christian Counseling Centers International, if you would like to make an appointment with a counselor, or if you would like to become a partner in our ministry, we’re glad to have you with us.
